West Seattle Animal Hospital is pleased to assist our clients in preparation for international travel with their pet(s). Each country differs in its laws regarding the import of companion animals, and while some countries have minimal requirements, others can be rather complex and require careful planning and timing.
Please be advised each country has its own specific health requirements for entry of companion animals. These requirements are established by the importing country, not the United States. West Seattle Animal Hospital can provide you with information regarding regulations, tests, and inspections required to the best of our ability. However, since export requirements frequently change, we advise that you contact the USDA Area Veterinarian-in-Charge to for the most up to date requirements and fees associated with your destination before booking your trip.
Visit the International Animal Export Regulations page on the USDA website for the most recent information about your destination and/or contact the Area Veterinarian-in-Charge directly:
We appreciate the effort involved in moving your pet(s) to a foreign country safely and without undue stress. Our APHIS accredited veterinarians can help by providing the necessary health related services and advice, including microchips, vaccinations, parasite treatment, rabies titer tests and health certificates.
If you have any questions, please feel free to discuss them with our staff.
Thank you for choosing WSAH for your pet’s travel needs!
